EASTER SUNDAY

Happy Easter!! It is the greeting that we exchange on these dates with family and friends. For those friend and family that are far from us, we leave them a greeting through Instagram, WhatsApp messages, phone calls and for those close family and friends we take the opportunity to celebrate together at home.

Easter is one of the most important celebrations for Christians, because we celebrate the resurrection and appearance of Jesus before his disciples, after dying on the cross on Good Friday.

Like any celebration, it requires organization days before so that everything turns out beautiful and perfect. For example, here are some of the topics I check before for our Easter lunch:

FOOD MENU

I like to choose it in advance to have all the ingredients on hand and I like to share it with my son and husband so that they feel integrated into participating in this celebration.

For this day we chose to make together a fresh pasta called Cavatelli, my son’s favorite.

TABLE SETTINGS

One of my favorite parts without a doubt, is choosing the tableware that we will use, the glasses, the cutlery, the tablecloth, and the cloth napkins. All my setup was chosen from the ETRO HOME collection.

FLOWERS

Flowers cannot be missing in any celebration, and Easter coincides with the arrival of the spring season, so I like to choose them in very colorful colors that go in harmony with the mood of the table.

The flowers that we choose from AD FLOWERS were perfect for this occasion, I picked color shades in orange, pink, yellow, some green, and branches that I also used to hang some decorative eggs on. I chose two sizes of vases, from ETRO HOME collection, Maia Vase in white color with details in gray and as the large vases I choose Blooming vases from ETRO HOME in pink and green. I love the latter because they have figures of corporeal insects on the outside and it goes very well with the mood of our table.

SPECIAL DECORATIVE ITEMS

As a mother of an eight-year-old boy, I always like to add special items to religious celebrations to liven them up, in a way that our children have fun and become accustomed to the deep meaning of this celebration from an early age.

For this occasion, I like to use the following symbols:

Easter Bunny: symbolizes fertility, because the end of winter and the beginning of spring, are when animals begin to appear.

AD FLOWERS has accessories with affordable prices between $6 -$30 that allow us to integrate them into our decoration and give a very special accent without spending much on it.

Easter Egg: represents the beginning of life. For this day I like to use different types of the egg; chocolates to decorate the tables; edible eggs I boil them and then paint them as a recreational activity on that day; as for the plastic eggs, I like to hide them around the house or garden and it ends up being a fun game that integrates children and adults. Whoever collects the most eggs is the winner of a large basket of chocolates and candies.

Paschal Candle: It is a large candle decorated with a cross in the center used during the Pascual Vigil. Its light symbolizes the resurrection of Christ.
