NUBIA ARMCHAIR IN THE HEART OF ACHRAFIEH URBAN ART
NUBIA ARMCHAIR IN THE HEART OF ACHRAFIEH URBAN ART
Achrafieh is one of the most important areas of Lebanon located in the heart of Beirut, it is a famous residential area with beautiful traditional French houses of the time and also modern and prestigious high-rise buildings.
Commercial life is also present in this area, you will discover an infinity of shops, famous restaurants, hotels, and shopping centers.
As you walk through its narrow, winding, and tree-lined streets, you will see that its walls, and gates are decorated with urban art commonly known as “Graffiti.” It is a modality of free painting, noted for its illegality in many countries of the world.
The Graffiti term comes from the Italian Graffito, and its history goes back to the sarcastic inscriptions in public spaces made during the Roman Empire.
During our tour, we discovered one of these urban expressions on Gouraud street, where the author Yazan Halwani portrayed our beloved and iconic singer Fairouz. The mural is full of black and white colors with a beige background, he used Arabic calligraphy to recreate his work, making it the perfect backdrop for our 8th edition ETRO HOME in Lebanon.
On this occasion, the protagonist is the Nubia armchair by ETRO HOME, to accompany this Fairouz urban art. Its oriental style, defined by its curves, and its bright pink color merged with the icon paisley of the brand, framed in golden details around its silhouette, reminds us and describes the femininity of the Lebanese woman and her strength to beautify any situation of life. And it is that Fairouz for the Lebanese people, has made us travel through her songs through many stories of love and pain typical of our Lebanese history and culture.
Despite the busy atmosphere of the people passing by, and the chances of it raining that day threatening us, we were able with our team to capture some truly impressive shots of the Nubia armchair in front of this mural.
Embracing imagination and with the power of this combination art, design and culture, lead to the birth of a new creation. An art portal transporting us from our ancestors past into a birth and mysterious future. This initiative will definitely mark a choking event in the industry of interior design.
We couldn’t choose just one photo, so three were our favorites, and we will share them with you on this blog and through our social networks @adhomecollectionlb
I hope you enjoyed this new stop on our journey through Lebanon. Let me know what you think about our ETRO’s Nubia armchair along with Fairouz street art and tell me, what do you think about Graffiti, is Art or vandalism?
